Preview: Dragon Brno v Timisoara
2010-02-26 18:23The last Quarter-Final will feature a re-match of one of last season’s opening round fixtures.

Dragon Brno will play host to defending Champions Timisoara for the last place in the semi-finals. Last year’s game in Hungary ended 41-11 to the home side, but now, the Czechs are ready for revenge. They have had a lot of time to study their opponents and are quietly optimistic about their chances. The feeling in Brno spells, “Why not now?” This hopeful stance can be explained by their dismal Pool games, where they only managed to collect 3 points and their only “positive” result came in the 0-0 draw against rivals Ricany, a match, that will haunt both teams for a long time.
Timisoara are aiming to silence whispers about their fall from grace. They still consider themselves favourites for the title and their minimum aim is to reach the final, however, this season, all the talk has been about the young and energetic Bulldogok and the powerhouse Baia Mare. This might just turn out to be a good thing for young Cosmin Cioriciu’s team, who can fly under the radar and have all the necessary tools to defend their title, after all, they have won all the matches they started in the two year history of the CEE Cup.
